Members Area

G'day mates.

All paid members have been sent an access code and you should be able to get into this area now.

There's even something to look at.

For Sale - #79 - Radical

Radical is for sale.

Steve and Kathy are moving to Vancouver and want to find a good home for their boat.

Update: Radical is road kill. Last I heard someone bought the carcass so let's wait and see what happens.

E2 Rudder Project…Part 3

The great rudder saga continues…

Part three on the rudder page.

Contact Form

I had to remove the Contact Form because it was finally hacked. I kind of knew this might happen because there is a bug in the php code which allows this to happen. I guess it just means that we're on the map now. Traffic is way up. When the bug is fixed I'll put it back up.

Update: The code has been fixed but I really don't see a need for the Contact Form. It seemed like a good idea at the time.

Members Area

I've had a couple of enquiries regarding the Members tab. I haven't added anything to this section yet but I am working on the financial statement for the Class. When I get it posted I will send all the paid members an access code and you will be allowed entry. This area will be reserved for privileged information or other articles deemed appropriate for members only. Sit tight and stay tuned.

Keel Fairing

I've put up a couple of articles about fairing the keel to the templates.

You can get to them here.

Silk II

I was at the St. Petersburg NOOD in 2002 and saw the most incredible picture hanging in the yacht club.
I stumbled across it on the interweb and just had to "borrow" it for you.

The full story behind the picture.

You can buy the poster, if you're made of money.

Maps

I finally figured out how to get the map markers to appear the way that I want them.
I'm thinking that walking on hot coals would have been more fun.

Comments

I have removed the comments feed.

It didn't appear to be a feature that was generating too much interest.

E2 Rudder Project

When I bought my boat late in 2003 the first thing I decided to do was make sure that the rudder wasn't going to fall off. What followed was an odyssey of epic proportions. I have been meaning to write about it but never seemed to get around to it. I finally gathered up most of the pictures that were taken, and there were a lot of them, and started to write about the adventure that followed. I haven't been able to locate one series of pictures but there are plenty to make it interesting.

Run

Matt Simington from Oxford, Maryland is the new owner of Run.

He sends us this great picture of them on a screaming reach. Looks like a lot of fun.

Won't be long now. I can smell it. Groundhog said so.

Wetass Chronicles

Tim Zimmermann, the man responsible for bringing you "The Wetass Chronicles" has posted this note:

Hate to say it, but after two-and-a-half years of trying to keep up with this website, I am burned out, cooked, done, finito. Well, not really, but I just don't have the time anymore to do this thing properly, and I'd rather not just mail it in. Plus, it's time to head in a new direction and develop other novel means of wasting time while amusing myself. Thanks to all the loyal readers and tipsters. There are plenty of other blogs out there now bringing you the latest in extreme adventure and video, so keep on clicking. It was fun while it lasted. Have a nice life...

Too bad, there was some good content on his site. Thanks for the ride Tim, and good luck.

More Browser Stuff

If you are using Firefox, and you know you should be, there is an update available. Version 1.5.0.1
In the Firefox help menu-"Check for Updates…", Easy-Peasy.

I know I haven't touched on this before and I probably should have.

This website has some interactive goodies scattered around and you need Quicktime to see them. Our Macintosh brethren already have this installed so if you are using Windows then you should get this. I refuse to even entertain the idea of having any "Windows Media Player" stuff here. Quicktime rocks and that's all there is to it.

If you don't have or use iTunes and you want to, or you want to check it out, then this link will get you the combination package. iTunes is the thing to organize your music.

If you don't want iTunes then use the Quicktime link in the sidebar (The Big Q looking thing) and you will just get the standalone Quicktime installer.

I will be adding much more video and sound stuff in the future so if you want to be able to see all the goodies then get it.

Buttons

I am in the process of making some Class buttons for this year. We are experimenting with different materials right now.

They are 2 inches in diameter and will be laser engraved…by sharks…with frick'n laser beams…attached to their heads.

All paid members will receive one as soon as I get it together.

Results

I have posted all the results that I have. There are a few holes so if anyone can fill them in please let me know.

I don't have the results for the 2004 North Americans at Frenchman's.

I also need the results for the 2005 DYC Cornucopia and Verge Regattas.

DYC Website

Dalhousie Yacht Club finally has something on their new website.

If you have an extra 2.5 seconds check it out here.

Update: There is finally something to see at this website.
